Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar

Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali MANTAR graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in 1993. He completed his Master's degree in 1998 and his PhD in 2003 in the Computer Engineering department of Syracuse University in New York State, United States of America (USA).

Prof. Dr. MANTAR started working as the Founding Head of Department of Computer Engineering at Harran University in 2004. He served as a faculty member at Gebze Technical University, Department of Computer Engineering in 2006. He received the title of associate professor in 2010 and professor in 2015 at the same university.

Prof. Dr. MANTAR served as a Board Member of TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM (National Academic Network and Information Center) between 2006 and 2018, and as a Committee Member of the European Union Cyber ​​Security Agency in 2010. He served as a Member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences between 2012-2022.

Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali MANTAR worked part-time at Doğuş University, Gebze High Technology Institute, Naval Academy and Işık University between 2006 and 2015. He advised more than 30 master's and doctoral students during this process.

Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali MANTAR has many international academic studies and industrial research on Communication and Network Protocols, Wired and Wireless Communication Technologies, Computer Networks, Network Architectures, Information Systems, Software Defined Networks (SDN), Distributed Systems, Network Security and Forensics.

Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali MANTAR served in various committees at TÜBİTAK ARDEB (Research Support Programs Directorate) and TÜBİTAK TEYDEB (Technology and Innovation Support Programs Directorate). He also served as Vice President of Testing and Evaluation of TÜBİTAK BİLGEM (Informatics and Information Security Advanced Technologies Research Center) in January 2015 and as the President of TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Center between June 2015 and 2020.

He served as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computer Engineering between 2014-2015, as a Board Member of TÜBİTAK MAM between 2016 and 2020, as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors at TÜYAR A.Ş. between 2018 -2021

As of 2021, he started his career as Prof. Dr. in ITU Computer Engineering Department and as ITU Vice Rector in the same year.

Between 2021 and 2023, he served as a Member of the Board of Directors of İTÜ ARI Teknokent and Chairman of the Board of Directors of İTU NOVA.

He has been serving as a Board Member of 1773 ITU Technopark since 2023

He serves as a member of the Board of Directors and Advisory Boards in national and international organizations, and has many articles published in national and international journals and peer-reviewed conference/symposium proceedings.

He was appointed as the Rector of Gebze Technical University on 04.08.2022.

He served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at HAVELSAN A.Ş. between 03.05.2018-12.06.2020 and as the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors between 12.06.2020 and 16.05.2022. He has been serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors at HAVELSAN A.Ş. since 16.05.2022.
